5000 European rovers is set to arrive Lundsneset in July.

The beautiful Lundsneset in Stavanger will be home to the adventurous rovers from all over Europe. This fantastic campsite is definitely contributing to making Roverway 2024 NORTH of the Ordinary. Amidst fjords, high mountains, and spectacular Norwegian nature, European rovers will truly get to know picture-book Norway! “Lundsneset is the definition of North of the Ordinary! You’ll search long for a cooler campsite,” says camp leader Simmen Karoliussen.

¨Locally, we have applied for and been awarded the event, which is scheduled to take place in July/August 2024¨, says Ivar Anton Nøttestad, leader of the Vesterlen district of the Norwegian Scout Association.

Lundsneset is located on Hundvåg in the municipality of Stavanger. “Stavanger municipality has been fantastic to collaborate with throughout this process, and we look forward to close cooperation in the coming year,” says technical leader Halvor Øyen.

The main committee is well underway with the work towards Roverway. “We are excited to gather young adults from all over Europe for a week of adventure, friendship, and experiences,” concludes deputy camp leader Tuva Moholdt.

About Roverway 2024: Roverway is an international scout camp for rovers organized by WAGGGS Europe and WOSM Europe. The scouts in Norway are the organizers of the next Roverway – Roverway 2024 NORTH of the Ordinary. We look forward to bringing together 4000 participants and 1000 staff in Norway, July 22nd to August 1st, 2024.

Roverway is a two-part event. In the first few days, participants have the opportunity to explore a self-chosen route (“path”) in smaller groups. The routes will cover all of Southern Norway, and after five days, everyone gathers for a common camp in the Stavanger area (July 27th to August 1st). Participants are aged 16–22, and IST (International Service Team) members are 22 years and older. Paths are organized by volunteer scout leaders and rovers throughout Norway.
