This year, Region Stavanger was honored to be the organisers and facilitators of the ICCA Destination Marketing European Business Workshop. Participants were accommodated at the historic and picturesque Hotel Victoria in the heart of Stavanger. Hosting this event provided us with a wonderful opportunity to showcase the fantastic possibilities for hosting international meetings on the Edge of Norway.

A gathering of minds – unveiling connections and expertise

ICCA is both a global community, and a vital source of knowledge and experience. With over 1100 members in nearly 100 countries, the association represents both destinations as well as experienced suppliers within the conference and congress industry and association executives.

The ICCA Business workshop offer an informal and small platform for associations and meeting suppliers to interact and share what offers are available on the market from ICCA members and to exchange knowledge and best practices between associations and meeting suppliers.

During the workshop, a series of one-to-one business meetings took place in the histotical Hotel Victoria between 11 destination and 11 associations, most of them with meetings rotating around Europe. The workshop is an area where association executives will have the chance to meet sale representatives from European based convention bureaus to discuss their specific meeting requirements.

Hosting the ICCA Destination Marketing European Business Workshop 2023 in Stavanger provides us with an outstanding opportunity to promote the region as a potential host for 11 international association meetings. The feedback from both the association executives and the other destinations have been remarkable. We already have a few bids in progress on potential association meetings taking place in 2024/2025. I would with out a doubt say that hosting the ICCA Business Workshop was a huge sucess for Region Stavanger and our partners.
