REGION STAVANGER – THE GATEWAY TO PULPIT ROCK – LAUNCHES MAJOR DISTRIBUTION PROJECT TARGETED AT TOUR OPERATORS AND AIRLINE SALES STAFF IN PREPARATION FOR POST-COVID TOURISM BOUNCE BACK.

  • Project designed to help airlines stimulate tourism demand into Stavanger.
  • Packages will help re-establish demand on existing airline routes post-covid and stimulate demand for new airline routes.
  • Sales and distribution will be in both point-to-point origin markets and beyond origin markets.

The project has made us able to launch a wide range of new packages. This includes Fly Bike motorcycle tours, where bikers can now fly into Stavanger and rent a fantastic Kawasaki or KTM motorcycle and bike on the amazing FV500 mountain road. You can also experience this gem together with your friends or family in a self-drive holiday packed with interesting and beautiful attractions. The packages also include stays with fly fishing in rivers and rental of fishing boats to go offshore for deep sea fishing. Bird watching is another exciting activity that brings you close to nature in this region. For those who like to have an active holiday, the packages also include skiing, surfing and hiking.

We have also launched a series of fantastic city breaks with short sea cruise packages and amazing hiking and adventure holidays, taking in the famous Pulpit Rock, products we feel really suit a moment when holiday makers want to get out of lockdowns and enjoy fantastic scenery, great experiences in expansive, clean, and safe environments.

For the urban travelers who wants to enjoy city life, our big little city can provide packages with gourmet experiences, shopping, street art, historic walks, cultural heritage, art museums and classical concerts.

“There is no doubt that the current COVID-19 pandemic has significantly dented international tourism demand. This is why the focus here at Region Stavanger is to do all we can to stimulate a swift and rapid return to demand. Our new product packaging sales and distribution initiative will now make it easier for tour operators to buy and sell the best holiday products we have here in the Stavanger region. In addition, the packages we have rolled out will provide a solid platform to help both existing and new airline partners sell our region to both the travel trade and also directly to consumers. This combination will create a powerful platform to help our tourism and airline community rebuild and recover as we come out of COVID” says Elisabeth Saupstad, Director of Tourism in Visit Region Stavanger.

Visit Region Stavanger team is now preparing for a big launch of the packaging initiative which we hope will grow demand from our existing tour operator clients whilst opening up new and exciting relationships with new tour operators across new product segments.
